Protecting your Privacy - The Wood Travel “Privacy Pledge”
Effective January 1, 2004, the Canadian Federal Privacy Legislation applied to all travel agencies, including Wood Travel & Cruise. The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act or PIPEDA as it is known, lays out ten privacy principles and related details on how we must securely store YOUR personal information, including your name, age, ID numbers, e-mail address or credit information.
How we collect and use your information.
We collect and keep information about you to provide the products and services you request. We only collect this information directly from you on a voluntary basis and only our authorized agents have access to our technological and physical systems. Wood Travel & Cruise is committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality, accuracy and security of your information. Whether we collect, use, retain or disclose your personal information in the course of conducting business or for in-house marketing, our focus is your privacy.
In what other ways is information used.
At times we use third party suppliers outside of Wood Travel & Cruise to help us provide the services you requested (for example, insurance companies, airlines, tour operators and other agencies), which may involve sharing some of your personal information. We expect our third party suppliers to maintain the confidentiality of your information by not using or disclosing your information for unauthorized purposes or without your consent.
Your right to access your information.
You have the right to access the personal information that we have about you in your profile. If we have incorrect information, we can amend or delete it at your request. Confidentiality Agreement
With regard to the provisions of the Privacy Act, I hereby give my explicit permission for Wood Travel & Cruise to maintain personal information already stored on my file, and to collect further information for the purpose of contacting me by mail, fax, telephone and/or email relating to vacation or business travel and other information that Wood Travel deems relevant and useful. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to inform Wood Travel of any changes to this information.
