Villa Del Palmar Resort in Puerto Vallarta

My son and I have visited this resort - twice! That in itself says that we enjoyed it. I wanted to share a review of this resort since it is an economical choice yet holds a large value.

Located in the city district of Puerto Vallarta, this older resort is situated perfectly along the beach, with access to local shops and attractions. It's not 5-star accommodations at all, perhaps a three, but other than things being outdated, it was perfect! I wish they would rate it higher, but I get it. Rooms are comfortable and clean and the mini bar was stocked daily, room service was at no charge. It was nice having two pool options at this price point, and being on the beach in a great location was great! We enjoyed walks every morning and evening and visiting with other tourists.

Staff were all friendly, they remembered your name and favorite drink and you never went without. Rooms were clean and quiet and we had no issues at all with the property. Food was abundant and of good quality and variety. Other tourists were friendly and helpful, it was a great place to stay.

Restaurant

Nearby attractions would be the mall a short walk away, local shops and places of historical interest. If you are looking for adventurous excursions, Puerto Vallarta has it! My son and I enjoyed an entire day jam-packed with a speed boat ride, jeep ride up the mountain, donkey rides, and long hike to our final destination of zip-lining 11 of the highest lines in Mexico - crazy good view!!! We rappelled down two waterfalls and enjoyed a great authentic meal at the end of it all.

We also enjoyed the cultural side of Mexico by visiting the Lady Guadalupe Church in the historical district. The area is fabulous with little shops and authentic Mexican culture.

Of course we did some tequila tasting while there- hands down the best I have had and you can only get it in this area of Mexico. The Jalisco area is known for the best tequila in the world as the agave grows in abundance here under ideal conditions and it is much sweeter and fruitier tasting.

Our stay - each time! - at the Villa Del Palmar resort in Puerto Vallarta is a great time. They have a new resort in the Nuevo region for those wanting a more updated and 5 star experience. My son and I enjoyed the cultural immersion and friendly atmosphere that being in the hotel zone offered us. Highly recommended for budget friendly family, single, or couple stays.
